Mini Toast Cubes Cinnamon (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 cup milk
02 - Just a pinch of salt
03 - 3 tablespoons butter (split in half)
04 - 1/4 cup sugar (white)
05 - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
06 - 4 thick slices of white bread, preferably slightly stale (1 inch thick each)
07 - 2 large eggs, or 3 small ones if that's all you have
08 - Maple syrup on the side (a must-have!)

# Instructions:

01 - Slice away the crust from each bread slice, then cut them into 9 square chunks. Picture tiny bite-sized goodies!
02 - In a bowl, combine eggs, milk, and that little pinch of salt. Whisk until the whole thing looks smooth.
03 - Stir cinnamon and sugar together in a shallow bowl. Think of this as your sugar-doughnut magic layer!
04 - Add about half the butter (1 1/2 tablespoons) to a pan over medium heat. Let it melt, but don't wait too long so it doesn't burn.
05 - Dunk half of your bread pieces into the egg bowl quickly. Wipe off extra liquid with your hands, then toss them into the hot pan. Stir and flip with a wooden spoon till they're crispy golden all around—2 to 3 minutes tops.
06 - Right after they leave the hot pan, toss the bread cubes straight into that cinnamon sugar coating. Shake them up and place them on a serving dish.
07 - Repeat with the last half of your butter and bread chunks, finishing up the cooking and sweetening just like you did for the first set.
08 - Serve these guys right away while they're still nice and toasty. A little maple syrup on the side is the cherry on top—watch them vanish quickly!

# Notes:

01 - Slightly stale bread is perfect since it doesn't soak up too much of the liquid, keeping the centers from turning soggy while holding its shape.
02 - This makes enough for 3 people who eat a regular amount, 4 light eaters, or 2 people who can't stop munching on these doughnut-like treasures!
03 - Swap in breads like sourdough or baguettes if you like, though grain-free bread tends to work better for this dish.
