Balsamic Strawberry Toast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 slices of bread
02 - Fresh basil leaves
03 - 2 tablespoons of white sugar
04 - 1/4 cup of cream cheese
05 - 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar
06 - 1 cup of strawberries (you can use frozen too)

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a small bowl and toss in the strawberries, balsamic vinegar, and sugar. Stir until everything's combined.
02 - Let this mix sit for 5 minutes or so to break down and get juicy. If you want, prep it ahead of time and keep it chilled in a sealed container.
03 - Pop your bread slices in a toaster or toast them up in a pan until they’re crispy and golden brown.
04 - Take 1-2 tablespoons of cream cheese and spread it evenly over all the toasted bread slices.
05 - Stir the strawberry mixture again – it should be juicy by now. Spoon the mixture and the juices generously over the cream cheese on each toast.
06 - Place a couple of basil leaves on each toast, then dig in while the toast is still crispy and warm!

# Notes:

01 - Make the strawberry mix up to 2-3 days ahead and keep it in the fridge!
02 - Use whatever bread you love – brioche, crunchy ciabatta, or even a hearty crusty loaf.
03 - Switch things up by using crackers or small baguette slices if you're going for an appetizer vibe.
